TestEQ delivered twelve walk-in climate chambers to a Huawei laboratory. Each unit has a 12m³ working volume, and the chambers were supplied as a set with layout design, on-site installation and commissioning, and integration into a central monitoring system.
Customer background
Huawei is a global telecommunications equipment manufacturer. Its laboratories validate telecom equipment, electronic components and complete systems under controlled environmental conditions before they are released. The work ranges from component-level checks to full system tests, which is why the laboratory needed chambers large enough to hold assembled equipment rather than bench samples.
Need and test conditions
The laboratory needed to simulate extreme temperature and humidity for telecom-grade validation, and to run full-scale system tests rather than component-only checks. Because the test items are large, the project called for walk-in chambers that an operator can enter, with conditions held stable over long test cycles and repeatable between runs.
Configuration
Twelve walk-in climate chambers were built to this specification:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Chamber volume | 12m³ (walk-in design) |
| Temperature range | -70°C to +150°C |
| Humidity range | 20% ~ 98% RH |
| Temperature uniformity | ≤ ±2°C |
| Temperature fluctuation | ≤ ±0.5°C |
| Control system | PLC + touchscreen intelligent controller |
| Air circulation | High-efficiency forced convection system |
| Structure | Modular insulated panels for fast installation |
Beyond the chambers themselves, the project covered customized layout design for the multi-chamber deployment, on-site installation and commissioning, integration with a centralized monitoring system, and energy-efficient settings for continuous operation. The modular panel construction shortened installation time while keeping the thermal and structural performance of the enclosure.
Outcome
The twelve chambers were delivered and put into service for telecom equipment validation, PCB and semiconductor testing, automotive electronics reliability testing, aerospace component simulation, and battery and energy storage system testing. The same 12m³ walk-in format suits medium-scale equipment and batch testing where a standard chamber is too small.
