Explosive Atmosphere Test Chamber for Fuel Vapor and Explosion Hazard Testing

The TestEQ explosive atmosphere test chamber reproduces an explosive gas environment inside a closed cabinet so that equipment can be checked for ignition and explosion hazard. It is used to qualify components and enclosures that may operate where flammable gas or vapor is present, following MIL-STD-810H Method 511, IEC 60079, ATEX and customer-specific standards.

Applications

  • Components and enclosures installed in fuel-handling, petrochemical and refinery areas
  • Electrical and electronic assemblies intended for hazardous locations
  • Aerospace, defence and avionics equipment exposed to fuel vapor
  • Sensors, connectors and switches used near flammable gas
  • Industrial instrumentation and control systems in Zone-rated environments

Configuration and features

  • Simulates gasoline vapor, hydrogen, methane, propane and other explosive gas environments.
  • Gas concentration control and pressure monitoring integrated into the test cycle.
  • Intelligent safety protection for reliable operation during explosive atmosphere testing.
  • Available in laboratory, industrial and fully customized chamber sizes.
  • PLC touchscreen controller with automatic data logging, alarm management and test report generation.
  • Backed by TestEQ’s engineering team, offering customized solutions, factory-direct manufacturing and worldwide technical support.

Safety

Explosive atmosphere testing puts a flammable gas mixture inside the chamber, so safety is built into the working cycle rather than added on top. Gas concentration control and pressure monitoring run alongside an intelligent safety protection layer, and the PLC controller manages alarm management and sequencing so a run can be stopped and vented when a condition moves outside the set window. The chamber is configured for the gas medium and concentration in use, and testing follows the standard or customer procedure that applies to the specimen.

Standards

Chambers are designed around MIL-STD-810H Method 511, IEC 60079, ATEX and customized customer standards. The gas medium, concentration range and test sequence are matched to the standard and the specimen.
