A combined environmental test chamber works under fairly harsh conditions, which is why it is used across materials, aerospace and electronics. Much of that comes down to details such as its piping.

Piping process

Piping is built with a high-grade steel-tube process and standard welding. The refrigeration copper lines have specific requirements for support and vibration isolation: an arc bend is added on the copper line and held with dedicated nylon, so that vibration and temperature changes do not deform or leak the pipe. That raises the safety and reliability of the whole refrigeration system.

Low-temperature line material

Low-temperature lines use high-grade oxygen-free copper, welded under nitrogen. With ordinary copper welded directly, oxides tend to form inside the tube and clog the refrigeration system, so the chamber cools very slowly or not at all. Oxygen-free copper welded under nitrogen avoids this.

Beyond piping, a combined chamber carries several other auxiliary features — a condensate drain pan at the base of the compressor set, for example, drains water straight out of the chamber. Operate the chamber as the manual requires, and keep up routine maintenance.
