A temperature chamber reproduces high- and low-temperature environments and is used in many fields. From time to time a chamber becomes slow to change temperature. Normally it reaches the set temperature within the set time; if the unit has been in service for a long time, or is operated incorrectly, cooling can slow down, and the chamber needs checking.

Check the refrigeration compressor

See whether the refrigeration compressor can start while the chamber is running. If it does, the electrical circuit from the main supply to each compressor is normal and there is no fault in the electrical system.

Check the refrigeration system

If the electrical system is fine, check the refrigeration system: look at whether the suction and discharge pressures of the low-stage compressor in the refrigeration unit are below normal. If they are low and the suction pressure is under vacuum, the refrigeration unit is short of refrigerant.

Feel the suction and discharge lines

Feel the suction and discharge lines at the main compressor set and check whether their temperature is normal. If the suction line is not cold and has no frost, the main compressor set is likewise short of refrigerant.

A slow temperature change rate is usually caused by a shortage of refrigerant. Once the actual cause is found, the fix is usually straightforward. In normal use, continue to operate the chamber according to the specified requirements.
